Research on Northern Shipping Center Construction

After the reform and opening-up, especially for joining WTO, China is accelerating the pace to adapt to worldwide economy, and playing very important role during the globalization procedure. After 2000, China has developed rapidly in international Shipping field. In Global Shipping market, China takes 70% of increasing and became one of the majority parts to pushing Shipping business forward. But one thing which can’t be ignored, China is still relative fall-behind in global shipping field.Experienced two rapidly increasing period, which motivated by Shenzhen DC of Zhujiang Pearl River Delta in 1980s and Shanghai Pudong of Changjiang river delta in 1990s, Chinese government put Binhai New District into‘The Eleventh Plan’development strategy, especially emphasize to establish Northern International Shipping Center and Logistical Center. It’s another important strategically policy after Shenzhen and Shanghai, and also an important opportunity to Tianjin’s development.Because of relatively delay of starting; China still has no mature International Shipping Center yet. Parts of export goods still need transit oversea. This situation is totally mismatch to China’s international position in Shipping filed and might limit the development in global economical competition in the future. So, it’s necessary to take use of political advantage fully, make plan practically, and build up Northern International Shipping Center rapidly.This paper is based on overall sight of Northern International Shipping Center; preliminary makes objective system of Northern International Shipping Center Construction through analyzing of external environment and internal condition, gives suggestion from perspective Nation, Tianjin city, and Binhai new district. Hoping this paper could be valuable for Tianjin Port to construct Northern International Shipping Center.
