Abstract

Portable chlorophyll instrument is used to measure a relative chlorophyll content, which have advantages of real-time, rapid, and non-destructive. Using this instrument measures chlorophyll content of plant leaf, such as to guide nitrogenous fertilizer application, so that study plant’s physiological features, tapping the production potential and variety resources according as scientific basis. This paper presents the RGB portable chlorophyll instrument with its kernel component TCS230 which has optimized all and to set its measurement model.According to the Lambert–Beer’s Law and the absorbance additive property the absorbance which RGB portable chlorophyll instrument measured of red light, green light and blue light are their linear relationship with leaf’s chlorophyll content and the multiple linear model regressed measuring chlorophyll content is got. The coefficients have been accounted by the mathematical tools dealing with the data measured by RGB chlorophyll instrument and the standard chlorophyll content will change as the plant species change. Some vary degree green colored papers are tested by use of RGB chlorophyll meter and SPAD502, respectively, to confirm the validity of the measurement method. Cucumber leaves are measured by RGB chlorophyll instrument and SPAD502 to get the chlorophyll measurement model coefficients of RGB chlorophyll instrument and to compare the measurement effect of RGB chlorophyll instrument and SPAD502.The measuring essence of RGB chlorophyll instrument is that the absorbance data of red light, green light and blue light are in linear relationship with the content of measured substance. So the RGB chlorophyll instrument can be used to measure other biological information basing on its . The astaxanthin content of is measured by RGB chlorophyll instrument. The relationship among the three absorbance data obtained by RGB chlorophyll instrumemeasurement principiumphaffia rhodozymant and the standard astaxanthin content is analyzed according to the measurement model regressed of RGB chlorophyll instrument to get the coefficients of astaxanthin content measurement equation. The astaxanthin content will be got when the data RGB chlorophyll instrument measured are substituted in the equation.
